Attribute Accuracy Report Attributes are as accurate as the source in most cases, except where feature level metadata indicates updates to the attribution.
Logical Consistency Report Various aspects of the attribute data including MIDAS numbers, names, coastal islands and the other coastal features are constantly being viewed and used by State Agencies. Errors are being reported and corrected by the official GIS representative for each agency as per a Memorandum of Agreement signed by all invested parties. Update notifications will go out through the GIS listserver.
Completeness Report Edits to Maine hydrography data continue with the MEGIS/NHD Stewardship, and in coordination efforts with Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and Maine Department of Marine Resources. These stakeholders are remotely editing various aspects of the attribute data including MIDAS numbers, names, coastal islands and the other coastal features.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report Approximate horizontal accuracy is 12 meters plus or minus 40 feet, assuming source data meets National Map Accuracy Standards.

Process Description Feature to Point was done on MEGIS.Hyd24p polygon feature class with the Inside option checked to force the point to remain within the polygon. QAQC was performed to confirm all the points were created and the attribution was carried over.

Entity and Attribute Overview MIDAS numbers are unique identification numbers assigned in the 1970's to Maine lakes and ponds monitored and managed by Maine state agencies. A collaborative effort between MEDEP and MDIF&W provided an update to MIDAS numbers, for Maine lakes and ponds, in 2003. MIDAS, MIDASNAME, and ELEVATION data reflects this 2003 update.The format used to establish an ISLANDID for each island, is the same as that used for Coastal Island Registry (CIREG) numbers. Not all islands are part of the registry. CIREG numbers are therefore, a subset of ISLANDID. Where a CIREG number exists, the item CIREG is flagged 'y' and the ISLANDID is also the CIREG number for the island.MIDAS_etc contains attribution that remains undefined. These attributes were part of hydrography features obtained from New Hampshire, and are both more specific and classified differently than Maine hydrography.For standardized code tables, definitions, and additional information on the Feature Level Metadata attributes see: http://megis.maine.gov/standards/flmeta/fmbrief.htm .
