Abstract
Represents locations of bridges along Maine's public roads with a span of greater than 10 feet. Strut bridges that have spans of less than 10 feet are not included. Point attributes include ownership/maintenance jurisdiction, overall superstructure, substructure, deck, and culvert conditions. Users should always note the publicaton date.
Purpose
Developed for planning purposes. Users must assume responsibility in determining the usability of this data for their purpose.

Process Description
Originally created from 'TIDE' (MEDOT's GIS-enabled data warehouse). SQL is used to return query results from Oracle tables. These tables include information about ownership/maintenance jurisdiction, overall superstructure, substructure, deck, and culvert conditions for each Bridge. A unique identification codes (Bridge numbers) is assigned to each bridge which facilitates in the mapping of resultant dataset.
